Mom's Here!

My parents are in the process of relocating to the Houston area to be closer to us kiddos.  It hasn't been an easy transition - my parents are trying to simultaneously find jobs here, sell their house there, and decide whether they would rather buy or build a house here.  Mom starts a new job at TAMUG on Monday; Dad is hoping to hear back from several positions that he has applied for.  Currently there is a contract on the house, but they had a contract fall through a few weeks ago which has made it hard for them to get too excited too fast about this one.  They haven't quite found a house or a lot that meets all the criteria they are looking for, so over Spring Break they brought their camper down for mom to live in for the mean time... along with her German Shepherd and five cats.  (Dad works too far from the house in Canyon to come home at last minute's notice and kennel the pets for house showings).  As difficult as the transition has been for them, I know they are so excited to be close to us again in the long run, because being close to us means being close to their future grandchildren.

Last night Brent and I went out to the camper to have dinner and spend time with Dad before he had to go back to Canyon.  It's amazing how comfortable an evening we had with five people (Meme came too!), a large dog, and five cats all within a 6' x 33' space!  I snapped this picture last night and teased my parents that it depicted just how crazy they are - my mom is the crazy cat lady (can you find three of the five cats?) and my dad is on the floor teasing the dog pretending he's eating her food.  Life is definitely about to get a lot more interesting around here. :)
