Brazos Bend State Park

This weekend we took an overnight camping trip to Brazos Bend State Park with the Polks and the Pacanowskis!  We had so much fun walking the trails and looking for alligators in the lake.  Wait, alligators?! Brazos Bend is apparently famous for them!  We saw three or four yesterday afternoon!  We really enjoyed setting up camp, cooking dinner over the campfire, and roasting marshmallows for s'mores, all in the company of good friends.

Here's us! We really love our tent.

And the amazing view we woke up to this morning through the tent top! Squirrels were busy leaping from branch to branch, tree to tree, causing quite a commotion rustling all the leaves. The sounds of nature are much more pleasant than my usual morning alarm.

So not a whole lot of pictures to show for this trip.  My phone stayed off for most of yesterday evening and this morning.  Technology was definitely not missed during that time... We ought to take a break from it more often (says the girl steady blogging on her iPad.)  I am counting this trip as #7: Take a nature walk and #24: Go camping at the beach... Minus the beach part.  The wetlands was a nice change of scenery from our little island. :)  I am starting to feel refreshed and rejuvenated to get back in the classroom.  Heading up to the school for my first voluntary work day tomorrow!
