Ironically after taking this picture and thinking this, Brent and I were immediately approached by one of the loneliest men I have ever met. He held us captive on the fishing docks for almost half an hour, telling us all about his dog, his bicycle, whatever came to mind at the moment that he thought might interest a stranger.
Galveston is such a broken place, and so many of its people seem lost or defeated. Lately I have felt so downcast and disconnected- sometimes for reasons obvious to me and other times for reasons not. Lately it's been difficult, but I am trying to trust in God and take comfort in His promises, moment by moment, day by day, through what has seemed weeks of fog and gloomy weather.
